Take the startup, but only if you can answer one question: what will you ship in the first 90 days? If nobody there can tell you, it isn’t a startup yet, it’s a hope. Ask them tomorrow.

Before you chase excitement, write down what you’re responsible for. Rent, family, debt. If the startup’s salary can’t carry that for a year, you’re not being brave, you’re being careless. Sort the runway first.

This week, get the startup’s 90-day plan and a written offer, and work out 12 months of expenses. If the plan is real and the runway holds, take it.
